HF Radio Tips for Caravan Road Safety
Caravan Industry Association of Australia1 min read
This video highlights communication as a key part of safe caravanning, with a focus on UHF radio use. Research shows most caravan owners carry a UHF radio, and displaying the channel clearly in the top right rear corner of the caravan helps truck drivers and other road users know how to reach them. When approaching a truck, caravanners are encouraged to switch on their UHF, call ahead and confirm it is safe to pass. With most truck operators also equipped with UHF, a quick, polite call when following or overtaking makes the road safer and easier for everyone.
